Alex's Pizza Palace

 Committed to Quality

In November 1964, Inspired by the people of Rolla, Alex Kallas and his wife Froso Kallas chose the location for his restaurant. He believed here in Rolla there was something special about the people, the town, and how he could be part of it. As the years passed Alex's Pizza Palace became part of Rolla, a tradition, and a famous spot that contains many memories and a part of this history of the city. Now when people come back to Rolla, they always have an Alex's Pizza.

Alex found the location right in the heart of the city on 8th Street, across the Edwin Long Hotel now Phelps County Bank. Many students came to Alex's over the years as they attended UMR. Alex's became a spot to meet friends and to satisfy their hunger after long school days, and to get together with your family in a cozy atmosphere. Many graduates still come to Alex's pizza even after 40 years and tell their own stories about Alex's Pizza Palace and what it has
meant for them.

Old graduates who used to come as teenagers are now coming with their children and grandchildren. There have been changes and additions to the great menu but the same
great taste and warmth still remains. Alex always believed that a successful restaurant involves a family environment, excellent service, hospitality, and commitment to it's customers.

In 1987 Ellie and Lazos Makridis took over Alex's Pizza Palace after working there with Alex for many years. The Makridis family continued the same tradition and commitment. At Alex's our recipes for pizza dough, sauce, and other items have been unchanged and made fresh daily for over 40 years. Alex's Pizza Palace thanks the city of Rolla and its loyal customers for their continued support since 1964.
